The media release about ATR published on Monday March 10th in Business Line states “About 18 months ago, he filed a patent with the Indian Patent Office for his data verification tool called Authentic Track Record.”

1. Is this a software, which is being filed for a patent?

There has been many blog’s related to the media release about Authentic Track Record. I want to provide clarity on that fact that the patent application filed is not to patent software per se.

2. Is Authentic Track Record a business method?

A business method is a collection of interrelated tasks linked to day to day business functions.

There are three types of business processes:

    1.
Management processes: Typical management processes include say corporate governance.

    2. Operational processes, which is core business and create the primary value stream. Typical operational processes are -         Purchasing, Manufacturing, Marketing, and Sales

    3. Supporting processes, which support the core processes. Examples include Accounting, Recruitement, IT-support.

Corporate governance, manufacturing, accounting or recruitment are day to day direct business functions which are mandatory for business and hence termed as business method or method of doing business.

An individual's decision to maintain an AuthenticTrack Record is a choice which the individual makes irrespective of the fact that he/she is part of a corporate, or business.

Parents


1. The terms of agreement states that the age for registration is 18 years and above. Can a student below 18 years of age register?
The parent can register on behalf of the student and handhold the process of maintaining an Authentic Track Record.

2. How does progressive evaluation help?
Prior to ATR, performance evaluation has been compartmentalized in nature. With ATR, every performance element is updated as and when it happens with the authorized reporting relationships. This provides the infrastructure required for progressive evaluation or comprehensive evaluation.

3. Can I maintain all positive performance feedback right from school as part of the ATR?
Yes. This can also help corporate’s identify talent especially while selecting freshers.

4. What is the right age to start maintaining an Authentic Track Record for my child?
We have even UKG students who have already registered with Authentic Track Record system. This of course is initiated by the parent who is expected to guide and handover the ATR at the right age.

5. Is authentic track record a universal system?
Yes. The usefulness of the system is universal in nature.


Individuals

1. Will corporate prefer an Authentic Track Record holder to a Resume holder?
40 to 60 percent of resumes that are circulated are found to have some fake representation of data. More over, there are fake certificates also being circulated. ATR system is the only proactive and virtually deployable solution, which is currently available to address these issues. Since there is many more usefulness to this system, corporates will prefer an Authentic Track Record holder to a Resume holder.

2. Can I register more than once with Authentic Track Record?
A user is expected to register only once and have only one Authentic Track Record ID.

3. What happens if a person registers more than one time?

Corporate’s can identify the duplicate registrations. User may lose opportunities and hence a user should have only one user login with one Authentic Track Record ID.

4. Can I update my Authentic Track Record by forwarding performance history to the personal mail id of a reporting manager?
A complete Authentic Track Record is one that has all updates made through official mails and directly by direct reporting relationships.

5. What if I have performance elements updated by using personal mail ids of reporting relationships?
Such a record is not a complete Authentic Track Record and hence may not get the mileage that a complete authentic track record can provide.

6. What if I create my own company and get my record updated through that fake company?
Authentic Track Record is also applicable for corporates and institutes. There could be verifications done on corporate existence, its clients and physical verification. If authentication is done through fake companies, the user may lose credibility and hence could lose on career progression opportunities.

7. If I have experience, can I still be part of ATR System?
A user can register even after gaining experience.

8. If I am experienced, what happens to my pervious performance records?
The user can still initiate the process for updation. In case the user finds it difficult, they may make use of the portfolio management service.

8. What is the amount to be paid for usage of the system?
Authentic Track Record being a system that is newly launched, we have decided to start user registration under the promotional offer wherein there is no registration fee to start with. As the system evolves, there could be a nominal pricing plan published.

9. What if I have any doubts about the usage of the authentic track record system?

10. What is required for a record or a performance element to be marked as approved?

The record or the performance element will be marked as approved only if the update is made by an authentic reporting relationship of a ATR registered company with update additionally confirmed by the Information security Manager.

11. Can I make changes once the data is updated by the reporting relationships?
Once updated, data cannot be changed.

12. What happens if by human error a performance history with an error is added?
There is an option to lock such records. But the company that you join may ask the ATR holder why records in an ATR is locked, in which case, the ATR holder should or may need to show a valid reason for such locked records within an ATR.

13. Should I maintain a resume and an ATR?

The user need to decide on this. If all the key performance elements are part of your ATR, one may not need to maintain a separate resume.

14. If I have a resume and an ATR, and if I forward only my resume, how will the recruiter or a user confirm the authenticity of my resume?

On request from the recruiter, based on need, ATR holder may choose to share the authentic track record id, which the end user can use to view your ATR.


Corporate

1. Is Authentic Track Record an alternative for resume?
Yes, it is an alternative, which provides much more value addition than a resume

2. Why is ATR system called the backbone of the HRATM?
A complete Authentic Track Record needs no verification. There is no need for certificates in physical form to be given for verification. Today, job kiosks allow candidates to apply for a job, take test, and take an interview. For instant offer, the right tool for instant decision-making is required. This is provided by Authentic Track Record system and hence called the backbone of the HRATM.

3. Is Authentic Track Record system patented?
Necessary applications have been filed towards patenting the system.

4. Will reporting relationships or managers take time to update an ATR?

It takes lesser time in comparison to the current system that everyone uses.

5. Wont ATR be less confidential?
In comparison with the current system that is being used, ATR provides much more confidentiality. The user also has the control over providing access rights to the complete ATR or parts of it. ATR system is a choice that the user makes.

6. What can Authentic track record system be integrated with?
The usefulness of the system spans beyond talent acquisition. It can be integrated with HRMS, Authentication systems, Job portals, Company career portals, training systems, Performance management systems, compensation management systems etc.

7. How easy is it to integrate a company career portal or a job portal with authentic track record system?

It is very easy to integrate authentic track record system with company career portal or a job portal. Only one additional field needs to be added to the job portal, company portal or any such system, that is, Authentic Track Record ID of the ATR holder.

8. Can a corporate completely avoid the need for employment verification?

This depends on the extend to which the ATR is complete. This means, if an ATR is only partly complete, then, there is a need to either make the record complete by updating the incomplete records or, based on the decision of the corporate to go ahead with employment verification.

9. Does the corporate need to take any internal policy decisions on implementing Authentic Track Record System?

To a certain extend, the decision to implement the Authentic Track Record System is more like implementing an internal quality benchmark for Human Resources Management. This of course is a management decision and hence naturally a policy decision. The policy should clearly state if the system is going to be implemented for new joinees alone or for both current and new joinees.

10. If Authentic Track Record System brings out the authentic information, wont implementing Authentic Track Record System for existing employees create an employee relations related issue?

This is a management decision that the organization needs to take. A policy decision in such case could be to implement the system only for new joinees and not for existing employees.
